INTEGRATED SUPPLY FROM THOUSAND PROVIDERS
GIS Europe - an example of logistics for Alstom and Philips.
GOAL
GIS Europe as an integrated supplier of materials for large European corporations faced the challenge of cost-effectively integrating 17,000 suppliers from around the world with the production cycle and ERP / MRP systems of several large corporations, such as ALSTOM, PHIILIPS, BP, Tessenderlo etc. The project required EDI, web integration and mobile with systems of Customers and Suppliers as well as the implementation in GIS Europe of a specially adapted ERP system, SCM and optimization components such as Vendor Managed Inventory.
SOLUTION
We introduced in GIS Europe an integration platform for all customers and suppliers based on the exchange of WebServices to handle orders, inquiries and inventory. We introduced a newer version of the ERP Dynamics NAV system with specialized adaptations. We implemented a complete data warehouse covering the entire company together with reports and intelligent mechanisms supporting logistics and negotiations with suppliers.
RESULT
Several percent reduction in logistics operating costs, full automation of the Direct Shipment process. Margin increase by several percent owing to enabling negotiations with entire capital groups. Improving the quality of data, reducing the number of errors in orders and returns of materials by several percent.
